Many businesses provide contracts of employment, policies and procedures and many do not. It is now a day one right that employees must be provided with a written statement of terms and conditions (a contract) and failure to do so can leave you facing a financial penalty in an Employment Tribunal.
We have come across many variations of contracts ranging from a single page to a contract/handbook rolled into one and running to many thousands of words. Contracts, policies and procedures should be kept separate and should clearly state which are, and which are not contractual.
